I got her from a breeder about just over 2 weeks ago. When I got her I was originally told she was 6wks old but she seems really small, and about 2 weeks later she is only about 5-5.5in long. At first I thought the breeder maybe lied to me about the age and she was just younger than I had been told but yesterday I took her to the vet for a check up. She's perfectly healthy however he pointed out her markings (dark lines on the sides of the face and a diamond pattern on her back) and told me she was probably the right age I was told but might be a rankins! I don't mind if she is but I'd like a second opinion if anyone has something to offer : ) I was originally told she was a citrus leatherback if anyone is wondering

Also she is a little fat..ter. I'm working on fixing that.

The lack of head spikes and relatively stubby/rounded face makes me think she could be a Rankins. I suppose this could also be a result of having leatherback genes. If you take a look at her from overhead, you can compare her to this chart which may help you identify her type.

No. not a Rankin's, just a small beardie. Leatherbacks are just a morph of P.vitticeps though, not a Rankin's.

And the spike chart is pretty unreliable to compare a baby dragon, that won't be of use for a small juvenile.

To be honest, the vitticeps [ central ] beardie's head could fit several of those drawings so it's not really useful in the U.S. or among keepers on most countries except Australia where those other dragons are found.

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
Taking my beardie for a walk
