Hello,

I just purchased a baby dragon yesterday and I think it may be a Rankins.
Could you please tell me what is it, based on the pictures?

Here is a picture from the seller, mine is the one marked "A"

The one marked "B" have a different back, he's the one in the next picture.

Now there are 24 hours since Pepe is in his new home and he didn't eat anything.
He spends most of the time basking on a log, I've seen him climbing on the background, making some trips on the floor and then climbing back on his basking log but he is not interested in food.
He has a plate with a mixture of greens and butternut squash, but he ignores it.
I've placed about 15 small crickets in a plastic container and put Pepe inside, but he ignored them and then jumped put of it and climbed on his log.
Should I be worried because he is not eating?
I think the temperatures are good, on the floor the temps varies from 18ºC (65F) in one side to 30º (86F)in the other, here is a heating mat under the bottom. To the top of the logs the temperature can reach 42ºC (107F). If he wants he can get closer to the heat /light source by climbing on the background.
There is a 125W Solar Glo at about 30cm (12 inches) from the basking spot providing light and UVA+UBB, a regular 100W helping to raise the temperatures.
I plan to give him (her?) a bath later today.

So, is it a beardie or a Rankins?
Should I be worried about eating? What can I do to make him eat?

Many thanks!
Cristian

I just noticed the dragon rubbing his face against the log, is this a sign he is about to shed?

Looks like a cute baby beardie to me. IMO most baby BD do not look like adult beardies until they are older. As they grow older, their beards develop and their distinctive head shape develops.

It will take a few days for they to start eating. Ours took a week before he ate when we first brought him home.

Thank you.
He ate about 5-6 small Crickets yesterday evening. Seems happy in his new home, spending the day basking, climbing the walls and exploring.

His back is pretty smooth, maybe like a leatherback?

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
