I have just recently obtained a bearded dragon with what I am suspecting is yellow fungus? I've been keeping reptiles for many years now but, I am new into keeping beardies. He has correct husbandry, 100 degree basking spot 80-90 degree ambient temperature. 55 Gallon tank by himself. He eats dubia roaches and superworms, with veggies of course. So is this yellow fungus or possibly something else. He has yellow on his beard and part of his lip but non anywhere else on his body. And help would be appreciated he is very sweet and I'm the third owner. Thanks for your time.

Hello,

The coloring does look a bit off, but, not too bad. How long have you had him for?
To be proactive, you could get some antifungal cream such as lotrimin, or monistat to put on
the areas, carefully, since they are on the face area.
It could just be an old shed that hasn't come off. Once it sheds off, you will be able to determine
more of what could be going on depending on what the skin underneath looks like.
There are no other areas on the body with this coloring?

Just on his beard and face the rest of his body has no discoloration. I'm gonna wait til after his next shed to see if it gos anywhere if not I'll take him to the vet to have some scraping done. And I've had him for about 2 weeks. The previous owner did not keep him in good conditions so I bought him to give him a better life. Hes a absolute sweetheart and I'm hoping it's just stuck shed. Thx for the advice I really appreciate it?

Hi there,

It's most likely just some old thicker shed. If you use the lotrimin or monistat, it should help loosen the shed up a bit too.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
