I’ve been worried for my bearded dragon for a while, but im getting really worried now. I think he has yellow fungus. I’m saving up money to take him to the vet now, but I wanna hear your guy’s opinions. He’s been eating, sleeping, and using the bathroom fine. I’m just worried sick.

It's possible that it's just an odd colored shed pattern looking at his belly, but the spots on his back make me think something is up. Getting a skin test done is a good idea. until then I'd treat it like fungus and avoid bathing. Try applying some antifungal creams to the area and I would get some F10 concentrate so you can sanitize areas thoroughly. If confirmed a vet may prescribe an oral antifungal to work along with the topical antifungal. Voriconizole has been fairly successful at treatment if the issue is YF.

Yes, definitely have a skin scraping done and only by a VERY experienced reptile vet. An inexperienced vet may conclude that it's bacterial and prescribe antibiotics which won't help.

I'm 99.9% sure it's going to be Y.F. though but hopefully you can get the treatment described in the articles I linked.

Little update, we brought him into the vet and it is yellow fungus. He’s on an oral antifungal and a daily soak in another med. would you guys happen to know if I should take anything out of the terrarium now that he’s being treated?

OK good. Which antifungal is he on? Voriconizole? That combined with topical treatment should help but it may take a while.

I would take out items that aren't easy to clean. It's good to have some F10 sanitizer on hand and mix it at a relatively strong concentration (1:100-1:250 with water). Use that to spray and sanitize everything regularly to help prevent re-infection. The more you can minimize the setup and make it easy to clean and sanitize the better. https://beanfarm.com/products/f10sc-veterinary-disinfectant-100-ml-3-4-oz?variant=24905406857

He’s on Terbinafine, which is the oral. The soak is a 1:10 Chlorahexidine. I’m going to a local reptile expo this Sunday, so I’m just going to get him new decor and take the old stuff out for a while so I can treat it.

Hello,

Poor guy, so sorry he was diagnosed with yellow fungus. I'm glad to hear you acted quickly
& got him into the vets. The meds should help him, but he will have to be on them for a
while.
Be sure to use a probiotic also, to help balance out his system. Definitely go ahead & get rid
of the old tank decor that you weren't able to properly sanitize, etc since the spores are so
hardy & can reinfect.
I hope he makes a nice recovery!

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
