Can these two medications be given together? if not how long does one have to wait before they can be dosed safely.

I am asking for my mother who rehabs squirrels . Yes its off label.
The animal has had SMZTMP, Albon, Flagyl and strongid. Vet is at a loss. Squirrel has symptoms of Coccidia and or Giardia. But neither are found in the several fecal test run.

Many rehabbers use these meds.. but have never used them together that we know of. She is already a member of the Squirrel Board.

Hello,

Sure, you can give them together, if dosed properly.
Do they need both for coccidia & worms? The meds are for squirrels correct?
That is very odd, the fecal is not showing up anything at all?

Awesome.. Thank you

Yes. They are for squirrels.

We have been told by the vet and the rehabbers that it is not uncommon for the fecal to not show in squirrels.

We suspect Coccidia or Giardia . Albon flaygl combo from the vet fixed 3 of the four. But the one little guy needs something more.

But sorta back on topic of Beardeds.. I have washed my hands and kept good practice and she has been cleaning the cages. So I am wondering.. If its giardia then I probably would not have contaminated my bearded?

So.. I would watch for coccida symptoms in my Bearded? or is it really that species specific?

Hello,

How are the squirrels doing?
The giardia & coccidia affect reptiles & mammals differently so it could contaminate if proper hygiene isn't practiced. Normally coccidia & giardia are species specific though.
Poor thing, I hope he is doing better soon.

Let us know how things progress.

Hello,

That is awesome, 20 years is a long time. :D
I hope they are able to be released soon. Do you ever keep any?
That would be hard not to get attached, too. How adorable they are.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
