Hi there, I am hoping someone can give me some insight as to what might be bothering my poor dragon!

- Age: over a year?
- Size (length from the tip of the snout to the tip of the tail): 16 inches
- Size of the enclosure: 40 gallon
- Temperatures: basking 100-110
- Type of substrate: laminate
- Diet: superworms - refused eating for 3+ weeks, horn worms (had her 1st one today!), dandelion, kale - refusal to eat for 3+ weeks

About 3 weeks ago the scales on her left arm became discoloured. Her arm appeared to be tender to the touch. We observed it for a week then a week ago I started bathing her in a diluted betadine and water bath. After her soak I would apply an aloe gel to the area. It appears to be getting better now but the scales still look like they're disintegrating!

Does anyone know what this is and how to treat it? Thank you!

Hello,

How long has it looked that way?
Has he shed recently, could it be retained shed possibly?

Hi Tracie,

She has had it for about a month now. She hasn't shed in about 6 months, I think. Her back legs look like they might shed soon, so I'm hoping these darker scales will shed. I have been bathing her every over day, but there doesn't seem to be any change. I am going to bath her again tomorrow and will post a new pic.

Thanks for replying.

Hello,

I forgot to check back. How are things looking now, did she shed?
Are you still bathing her daily?
I hope things are going well for her.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
