Can I start my panacur treatment on BeeGee tonight before he goes to bed? I'm giving him a bath now. I also have acidophiliz so should I start that as well? How should I regiment everything. I read the article on here about treating for pinworms. I would just like everything on a list so I know exactly what to do and when. I also have a ceramic heat emitter so that I can make temps warm for him at night when he's on the probiotic. :)

I would start the treatment in the morning.
You want him to stay as warm as possible while on the Panacur. The heat emitter for nights is a good idea too.
With the probiotic you want to give that a little later in the day after the Panacur has had some time to work, as not to counter act it.
What I would do is panacur once warmed up and after I get him to eat really well as it's going to take his appetite away. Then in the afternoon hours I'd give the acidophiliz.

: ( sorry I already started the panacur treatment. Is this BAD?! I had to go out to dinner and wanted to make sure he got it before bedtime D: Will he be okay? I turned the ceramic heat emitter on for him tonight and it is about 79 degrees in there. Will he be OKAY?

That's a relief. I'll give him a good soak tomorrow morning to help with his tummy. I'll also let him run around a bit because he's been trapped all week in his viv. My poor baby. I wish he didn't have to go through such things.

Hi Tracie, I did have a few questions.

1. You said to ice the panacur every 7 days. Does that mean to freeze it and then thaw it out before he gets his second dose.

2. Oh and another question. After the second round of panacur should I get a fecal done to see if it has cleared and if not give him the third dose or how do you want me to do that?

So far he's been doin alright. He pooed yesterday in the bath but still seems a bit dehydrated. I've been soaking him everyday for 20 minutes since the treatment started. I've also been giving him about a half a syringe to a full syringe of acidophiliz every night 3 hours before bed time. I keep a ceramic heat emitter on at night and it stays about 83 degrees. Does this sound right?

3. Last question, how should I give it to him orally? Last time I just squirted it in him mouth but he didnt seem to like that, plus a little was still on his lips. Any tips for this?

THANKS TRACIE! YOU ARE THE BEST

Hello,

Oh my, no, I must have written it wrong, I meant dose it every 7 days. :D My writing is a little too fancy sometimes so it is hard to distinguish my letters.
So, it can just stay at room temperature but out of direct heat & light to protect it.
Yes, after the second treatment you can get another fecal done to make sure the levels have dropped. Then, if needed, you can give the third dose just to make sure they are all gone.
Those nighttime temperatures are fine at 83, no problem at all. I am sure he is sleeping well at those temperatures.
Keep soaking him daily that should help with dehydration issues. The acidophiliz will give him extra fluids too & help settle any tummy issues.
If he doesn't seem to like the Panacur, you can mix it in with some baby food to mask the flavor of it!

Let me know how he is doing.

I placed it in the fridge along with the acidophiliz. Is this okay? So far he's doing well. He seems to go to bed early though. Around 5 instead of 7. He has done this before a lot do you think it's because the pinworms?

Hello,

He may be a little tired from a heavy pinworm load, yes. Also, it could be the weather & shorter days making him sleepy as well.
Yes, that is fine to keep the panacur in the fridge, no problem at all. Just let it warm up before giving the next dose to him.
I hope he is feeling better soon!

Thanks Tracie. Just an update. He hasn't been eating at all, however we've pretty much had this problem for awhile anyway. Anyway he's been pooing on a regular basis which I'd say is back to normal. My mom force fed him worms. I didnt really want her to but she feels compelled because he's not eating and I guess she's worried about him. He also doesn't even want the acidophiliz so I guess she forced that too. :/ it's really complicated with me not being home to give him extra care but my mom is doing her best.

He doesn't seem to want to eat anything at all :(. I guess he just isn't feeling well and the acidophiliz isn't really helping him. In addition his beard seems to be saggy and I'm not sure why? I think after the end of next week I'm going to take him to the vet in addition to his fecal to get it checked out. It's not terribly saggy. Also since he hasn't been eating he hasn't really gotten any vitamins. Ugh. I feel like he's been in a rough patch for awhile now. Maybe because of worms, maybe for other reasons. I just want him to be okay and eat like a normal beardie. : ( I hope he gets better after the panacur treatment.

Hello!

I am sorry he is not eating for you right now. Keep at it though. The acidophiliz should help. You could also look for some bee pollen at the health food store also to help stimulate appetite.
It would be good to get another fecal just to check his levels after a couple of treatments anyway. Poor guy, he has had a rough time of it lately.

Let me know how he is doing.

How do I give him the bee pollen? Just orally? I feel bad to keep opening his mouth to get him stuff. His second round of panacur starts today. I'm hoping after this next week we'll see some results. When should I take his fecal sample in?

Hello,

The bee pollen can be mixed with water, juice or sprinkled on his food, whichever is easier for you.
How is he doing today? Any improvements? I hope he is feeling better soon.
I would give it another week after your second dose to him, to allow it time to work, before getting another fecal done on him.
Does he willing take fluids very well from a dropper?

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
Taking my beardie for a walk
