I have a 4 year old beardie we rescued 4 months ago. He has severe MBD. He has a hard time pooping and won’t eat unless I syringe feed him. Got him serrapeptase and gave him his first dose today. He immediately turned black on one side of his beard. Anyone else have this issue.

I haven't seen any of them have a reaction to serrapeptase. Perhaps he doesn't like the flavor. The half beard color is something I've only seen when they're shedding. Do you see signs of a shed coming on around his beard or face?

If he continues to react to the serrapeptase I'd probably stop offering it. You could try offering silk worms instead if he's eating on his own.

Yeah he is shedding but still really dark and lethargic. For the last month he won’t eat on his own and has a hard time pooping. Vet says I’m doing the right thing by feeding him baby food and his repti boost.

Yeah that's probably true. I'd keep up with that. You can make your own slurries too using a blend of veges mixed with water and strained through a mesh strainer and then reduced to baby food consistency using cheesecloth to drain the excess water.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
