Hello I have a male bearded dragon who is about 16 months old he seems fit and healthy to me apart from this occasional bark like cough. This cough only happens now and then but has gone on for weeks now no discharge from nose or mouth no wheezing when he's breathing only difference in behaviour is that he doesn't seem hungry anymore? Not sure if it's because of this cough or that its brumation he has nice set of fat pads on his head and a chunky lower tail my tank temp is fine not sure of humidity today as waiting on a new hygrometer which be here today or tomorrow any more info needed just ask

Thanks in advance

What are you using for a UVB? coil or a tube? What are the basking temps and how are you taking them? What is the humidity in the tank?

A tube please tell me the brand and the bulb? A T 5 or a T 8? Does the hood / fixture have a reflector? You need a digital probe thermometer for accurate basking temps--- stick ons are inaccurate-- your dragon is showing a black beard - means he /she is in distress or pain - basking temps of 89 F is not hot enough -- he needs temps to be 95-110 F --

He wasnt happy with me taking a picture that's why he had black beared lol it's back normal now.and the tube not sure t5 or t8 it doesn't say it's a Arcadia UVA UVB it's about 15 inches long no reflector on it it's a glass door vivarium i will put the basking lamp little closer to increase temperatures for now and get a probe thermometer asap

Please look on the bulb it will tell you -- distance and placement is key for effectiveness of rays - if its a T 8 it is way to far for it to be doing any good -- distance for the T 5 is fine but I would recommend you get a reflector and place it directly over the basking decor piece -the reflector will project the rays downward to him -- and it will intensifie the rays as well

You need to see what the bulb is before you can order a reflector for the hood

This is a T 8 distance is 6-8 inches directly above the basking decor- it needs to be changed out in 6 months from install I recommend 5 months

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
