Why is my beardie hiding and not basking?

I have a 1yr old BD, and instead of basking or hiding at all he literally claws under stuff (his couch and his half log) sometimes or looks out his “window” (the glass doors haha) but I never see him bask.
Is the UVB the issue?
I learned that when there is too much UVB they can hide from it.
I have a 4ft long tank and a 4ft long UVB light (Zoo med).
When I change that to a 24 inch will it solve this issue?

Hello,

This can be true, if there is either too much UVB or a harmful UVB light. We can review
your tank setup with you, to be sure the lighting is all correct.
Also, at his age of 1, he could be starting a winter shutdown or brumation phase possibly.
Is he healthy overall?

He’s healthy in the way that he eats regularly but I’m trying to get his basking temp correct. He poops irregularly and far apart, about 2wks average.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
