Hi, I'm new here. My beared dragon Bob has been acting lazy or lethargic the past 2 days. He is normally active for most of the day so its really not like him. He is still a juvenile (9 months) so he might just be tired from growing? He is my first bearded dragon so I cant tell if I'm being dramatic or not.

Some info: Bob gets a bath once every 1 to 2 weeks, he is in a 40 gallon (upgrading soon), he has heat and uvb, tank temps are 100 basking 90 to 95 warm side and 80ish cool side, he eats his salads on and off, and he is on tile (no sand!).

UVB is a coil or tube ? If a tube is it a T 5 or a T 8 ? Where in the tank is it?
Basking temps ? How are you taking them? No stick ons

Tube, reptisun 10.0 I think? Basking temp is around 100 to 105 but never any higher. I'm using the zoo med digital thermometer, one on each side. Hygrometer is also digital zoo med. He has started to move a bit but was lethargic for atleast 3 hours

T5, it is attached to the top mesh on the inside, and centered in the middle. Bob has perked up a bit now, he ate half of his salad, still not active but he is alert.

Basking decor needs to be 12-15 inches directly over him+ so he's doing better?

I just measured, its about 13 inches above. Yes he's starting to perk up now, still not back to normal though. Do you think he's dehydrated?

He might be-- drop water on his nose see if he will drink - you can feed by syring but you need to go in the side of his mouth and go SLOWLY you do not want him to aspirate-- let him swallow then add more-- with him eating his salads wash them before serving he will get hydration from that and his insects if they are good and gut loaded- feed them carrots and the bugs will be good and hydrated- don't feed your dragon carrots too to much vit a--- watch his poops if they are dark firm and moist urate- white firm and moist he's hydrated- extra water is good

Hi, here's an update. Bob has still been acting lethargic in the mornings but he is always out of his hide by 1. I tried the dropper to give him water but he wouldn't take it. I haven't had the time to give him a bath, but will tomorrow. I've also been giving him 3 mists a day.
Yesterday he skipped a poop but the day before i noticed that his urate was very liquidy and small and surrounded with what looks like brownish water. Stool is fine though. Is a small or liquidy urate a sign of dehydration? The only other thing I can think of that might be the cause is an irregular diet because I've been giving him lots of variety in his salads.

**also, my pet store is out of crickets because of Corona, so I've been feeding flukers freeze dried crickets. I mist them too. Bob is always very eager to eat his crickets.

Dried anything is horrible and that is the brown liquidy stuff coming out in the poop -- I would get him over on dubia roaches -- you can order them from these places and they are a lot better staple feeder you can also get worms for him like horn super meal and silk I am going to give you a bunch of websites you can go shopping
http://www.dubiaroaches.com this is where I get all my roaches from they are good but currently not shipping roaches - they do have nice worms --
http://www.reptilianarts.com great silk worms they are currently out if you ever order from them in bulk like 50 they come small make sure you order food too as they will need to be fed daily and clean containers out daily-- they also have roaches and nice super worms
http://www.coastalsilkworms.com they currently have smalls I cant remember if they come w/ food
http://www.xyzreptiles.com out of Palmetta Bay Fl - they ship fed ex and order is there in 2-3 days - they come w/ food
http://www.joshsfrogs.com
http://www.mulberryfarms.com
http://www.hornworms.com they are slow --
http://www.reptilesupplyco.com/
The roaches can be kept in a 10 gallon aquarium or tote - they can be fed dubia food and carrots and squash for hydration - if your going to feed carrots do not feed your dragon carrots too to much Vit A --

Thank you for all the websites! I forgot to mention that I'm from Canada and Dubia roaches are illegal in Canada unfortunately. I normally feed bob gut loaded crickets and hornedworms or meal worms as a treat. I always have the freeze dried crickets as a **back up** though. I have had to feed him the freeze dried crickets in the past and his poop was normal, so im not sure if thats what the issue is. Bob will be back on live food next week. Do you have any ideas about the liquidy urate?

Means he's hydrated- extra water coming out try thewormlady in Canada- she has silk worms I believe- you want to feed a variety of staple feeders-- silk would be really good

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
