Hi guys, I am new here and can only apologise if I’ve messed up this whole process with the pictures as I’m terrible with technology! I have a young Rankins dragon about 9 months old, eating well, shedding great, appears to be healthy, not sure on sex yet but our hand training is going well and now quite happily allows me to pick them up, hand feed them and even do chin strokes, this however has allowed me to take a proper good look from tip to toe and as happy as I am with all the necessities from eyes to nose to toes I’m not sure on the tail! Seems a little dark in colour on the end but there’s no roughness or hardness there, doesn’t bother the little one when I was messing with it and no lumps or bumps so maybe someone with more experience could put my mind at ease or if there could be a chance of tail rot to advise on my next step. I will answer any questions u may have. Many thanks

Hi there,

No tail rot there. The tails can darken for a multitude of reasons. Here's a pic of my girl with a dark tail. Her tail really darkens when shes alert and exploring.

Unless there was an injury to the tail where infection could get in, tail rot is extremely rare :)

Hi there + welcome to the forum ! Brandon beat me to the reply but I agree there's no tail rot. Many beardies have darkening towards the end of the tail. Post more pics of his set up + of the good boy himself , you can do so in the introduction forum if you want. :) You posted the pics with no problem. :)

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
