mouth rot?

my beardie has been eating a bit less and when i gave him a bath today he opened his mouth and i saw the discoloration.

hes been acting normal other than that. hes been active, i dont know if its maybe a piece of food thats stuck? please help.

Hi there,

I see what you are referring to, under the teeth. It's hard to say for sure. You can always try a very soft bristled tooth brush to see if it is just food. It could also be plaque but in the picture it looks like it is on the gum under the teeth, not on the tooth itself.

Stained gums like that are not uncommon. Perhaps you can wipe the area with a q-tip. Sometimes chewing bugs with relatively hard shells can help with tooth and gum care too.
