Baytril and respiratory infection

Hi my beardie is on his 2nd round of antibiotics this time its baytril. Hes had about 4 doses of meds so far. Yesterday I was noticing he was black bearding on and off throughout the day but it never lasted more than a few minuets and I figured he was just being moody from the meds. This morning I woke up and his beard is partially black and has been like that all morning. Should I be concerned?

Hi there,

It's not too uncommon for their beards to look like that. However he does look like he's not feeling too well.

What was the first medication he was given? How long has he had the RI?

The first time we went in was Mid Aug. he was put on Ceftazidime injections.

We went back to the vet this week to do a post checkup/blood work/ xrays. Vet said he was looking better but still has some mucus/clear eye drainage. So she prescribed new medicine which is the Enrofloxacin 50mg/ml the does is 0.1mls everyday for 30 days. Hes only had about 3 doses of the baytril so far.

Bloodwork came back okay and xrays showed a little bit of gunk in his lungs she sent the xrays to other specialist and Im waiting to hear back from them on Monday
