I was watching my new 1 month old beardie under the 100-111 degree basking spot. He kept closing one eye sometimes opening his mouth wide and shut pretty fast then he shut both his eyes really tight making he eyes bulge out and then it looked like he started coughing with his mouth shut. Is this something to be worried about? I fed him 10 crickets and he pooped today which looked normal.

Hi. What kind of lights are you using? Brands?
I'm using the ZooMed T5 HO 24inch fixture with the T5 10.0 UVB bulb and the ZooMed Repti Basking Spot Bulb 100Watt. I use a dimmer for the 100Watt to make the basking area 100-111 degrees. The UVB is about 10-12 inches from his basking area which is shining through mesh.destiny1998":3jfmi5h9 said:
That all sounds great. My guess is that he is just enjoying a good bask. Perhaps he has a shed coming on which can cause eye bulging and beard flaring to help stretch the skin.
