So, to begin this post, I feel I should tell a little bit about myself & my bearded dragon. My name is Danielle, & I'm 25 years old. Shredder is a little over a year old now; I've had him since May 29th, 2017, but he was already 5-6 inches long when I got him (from PetCo). He is now 19 inches long & a complete mama's baby. Most people can't believe how attached he is.
Anyways, just a couple days ago, I noticed this spot on his chin. It looks to me like his scales are missing, & it also looks bruised & a little bloody. It doesn't seem to bother him, & his demeanor hasn't changed. The only change in his routine recently is that I bought a feeder bowl to keep a few worms in during the day while I'm working. I'm afraid he's scraped his chin while trying to get the worms out, but I'm also hoping it's not something worse. Although, I'm not sure how dangerous it is if he has scraped off his scales.
P.S. I do realize he also needs to shed on his chin. That's always been the troublesome area. I give him baths at least every other day, but his chin always takes longer to shed than the rest of him.
[I attached a picture of what's going on w/ him now.]
I'd love some input as to what you guys think is happening here. Thanks in advance
