How long does brumation usually last on the long end?
do you do anything special to wake them up?

Okay I read it.
Would it be okay to give my bearded dragon a couple baths a week instead of one?
I feel like she should be waking up soon and was wondering if an extra bath could help at all.

How long has your beardie been sleeping? Does she look like she has lost any weight? How old is she?

Did you have a fecal tested for parasites before she started brumating?

she's been sleeping for 3 1/2 months
She's lost some weight but I heard it was normal
I have a scale so I keep track of her weight
She's about a year and 6 months
I didn't get a fecal test
Her stools looked healthy to me when she went into brumation

When they brumate, they're not supposed to lose much wt, maybe just a few grams. How much has yours lost?

It's always a good idea to have them tested for parasites before brumating because brumation symptoms can be similar to the ones of a parasite overload. It's also a good idea to have them tested every 6 months regardless.

For reference, my dragon lost just under 4% body weight over the course of about 3 months during his first brumation this year. The trend for his weight overall this year is still increasing. I didn't offer baths but did offer water (drips on his nose) and occasional small snacks of squash pieces. He was quite thirsty at one point after I returned from a long trip which shows in the weight spike in November.

She lost 40 grams in 3 1/2 months.
Sound about right?
I gave her a bath today to see if she would wake up
She's not awake yet, I'm guessing it should be soon
I have been offering food and she hasn't eaten yet.
She did drink in her bath today so that's always a good sign.

That is a little more than Darwin lost but not a ton depending on her overall weight. How much did she weigh when she started sleeping? How do the fat pads on top of her head look? are they sunken or do they look full?

She was pretty hefty, she weighed a good 655 G
the fat pads look fine.

I've heard of them brumating for up to 6 months in some cases. As long as you don't see signs of something wrong (and it seems to me everything is in order) I would let her dictate how long she wants to be sleeping. So far she hasn't been down for much longer than Darwin was.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
