Hello everyone!
I'm Ria and I'm new here and I wondered if some of you could help me out :)
For school, I have been instructed to analyse the average condition of bearded dragons.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there!

You should get quite a few good responses, there are lots of people here always happy to help! :D

Mind giving us some more details on this project? I would have loved to actually be assigned something on bearded dragons when I was in school! I totally brought mine in with me for Environmental Science when we were doing Biomes (I got Desert, hehe!) :)

Thank you :) yeah its a very cool assignment, i needed to pick an 'unusual' pet and make an body condition score, and research how feed and management might influence the BCS :) its very interesting!

Fuschia, that's a big boy you have!! Over 450g at 7 months, dayyyum!

Siriatuy, you're welcome! I meant to add to feeding that I do hornworms once a week now that I know my girl loves them... and BOY does she! Gobbles them up in one bite!

Sounds like a pretty neat project! And I think you made a good choice with dragons, hopefully you'll get some more hits and it should be pretty easy to see the correlation between optimal care and overall health and growth of these scale babies. :D Like I said, tons of useful information and friendly people around here! Hopefully you get some people with adults for good comparisons as well, wish I had decent pictures of some of my other guys for ya. Good luck!

And yeah, YoursTruly, I know, right?! From 24 grams in December to 450 in April is pretty nuts. That's the first time in quite a while I've actually measured his length, too, and was shocked! He shot up so fast!

Hello Ria! I love this assignment. Beardies are super interesting. My science classes have learned so many things from my guy ? Reaction pathways, metabolism, light wavelengths, anatomy, graphing...
Anyway, as you do your research, keep in mind you're going to get a skewed sample, as you're probably only going to get responses from people whose beardies are in good condition. To balance that, I might suggest you look through the ER section, and maybe piece together these answers using their responses and pictures. Just don't actually ask them, since they probably have more pressing issues in mind.

JessW makes a great point! These are all questions we ask people when we are trying to help their sick dragons, so you should be able to fill out one of these questionnaires yourself just by reading certain posts in the health or ER sections, and plenty of them do have pictures. Good for comparisons!

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
