Albon for bearded dragon

Postby emilys » Thu Jun 10, 2021 12:46 pm

My bearded dragon's fecal came back positive for pin worms. The vet prescribed .1 cc of albon suspension (50 mg/ml) for 3 days. My bearded dragon weighs 135 grams. Does this sound right?

Hello,

The Albon dose is normally 25-50mg/kg so technically that dose is around 40mg/kg.
So the dose of .1ml for his weight is 40mg/kg. However, Albon is usually not prescribed
for Pinworms, but for Coccidia. Panacur or Strongid are used for Pinworm treatments.
