My first Bearded Dragon, Arnold, is coming home with me on Saturday. He's four years old and was given up by his previous owners because they couldn't keep him any more. I was wondering if there's anything I should know for when he first arrives? I've been looking into them for a while and feel prepared to house one. I was just hoping that experienced owners could give me some tips from personal experience. :3 Thanks.

Congratulations on the new beardie, they make wonderful pets. have you got your cage all sorted: UVB, basking bulb, basking log, digital thermometer, suitable substrate (nothing loose) etc? You can go through your set up with me to make sure if you like. Also what are you planning on feeding him?

Sometimes beardies can take up to 2 weeks to settle in to a new environment so don't be alarmed if he doesn't show much interest in food at first. Also handle him little and often at first so he gets used to you. I'm sure being 4 years he'll settle with you quite quickly :D

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
