My beardie is sitting up under his heat lamp

My beardie is sitting up under his heat lamp and his color turned dark gray. (I would post a picture but he stopped doing it). He does it frequently. He’s in normal basking position, sitting on his belly, but his front legs aren’t bent, they are outstretched.
What does this mean?

What is the temp where he is at for basking? No stick on temps they are inaccurate

I do not know because I am using a stick on thermometer but I guess it is inaccurate. However I am using a Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp and an Exo Terra Reptile UVB 150 Desert Terrarium Bulb, each about 8 inches from the basking area.

Ok so please go get a digital probe thermometer -- Petco or Petsmart $8 --- you need them to get accurate basking temps-- how old is the dragon? If he is a baby you need temps 105-110 --- juvies/ adults 95-110--- its good to offer a piece of decor that has different places to sit stand lay on or lay against Petsmart has some nice decor for that here is a piece that offers this it can be set in the tank different ways https://www.petsmart.com/reptile/habitats-and-decor/habitat-decor/thrive-driftwood-reptile-decor-54734.html?cgid=500116
