So my son's baby beardie (10 weeks old) has decided that jumping down from his basking spot is preferable to taking the ramp down. His basking spot is 10 inches above the tile flooring of his tank! It seems like quite a ways down and onto a hard surface. The three times I've seen him do it, I've been watching on a webcam so I can't stop him! I just hold my breath and hope he's okay. Each time he's trotted right off...seeming none the worse for wear.

Is this normal? Should I do anything to prevent it? I'm assuming he knows what he's doing but it has me a little worried.

It's ok as long as he is not hurt but maybe you can put something soft like a towel there just in case

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
