Hi guys. I've had my beardie for about a year now. I got him when he was about 4-6 weeks. So hes about 13-15mo.

Hes not been eating a lot, at least not as much as I'm used to.

He didnt seem very happy with his rocks set up. And I got him one that had like a hide hole in it. Hes been hiding inside there pretty much constantly for two weeks now. I have been making sure to keep his temperature constant. He also doesnt want to eat his crickets or his veggies. So I've been given him mealworms and super worms for now.
Today he finally came out and was doing his little running thing when he wants to hang out. I took him out and he was running around before settling on the corner.
I picked him up and when I was opening his cage to put him back, he bit my thumb. Super hard. Didnt bleed but it scared me, he has never bit me before.

When he did this he didnt givr any signs he was agitated at all. No swelling, no black beard, no hissing or mouth opening...

Advice, please? I just want him to be happy. He doesnt seem all that happy anymore.

Sounds like he's starting to show signs of wanting to brumate. Some beardies, males more often than females, get cranky when they begin to brumate. You should get a fecal done at the vet to rule out parasites, though.

I was just doing some research on brumation and I think this Is it. I thought it didn't happen until they were older..

Actually, even though a lot of sources say that beardies under the age of a year shouldn't want to brumate, that isn't true at all. My girl is eight months old and she's brumating now. Brumation is instinctual in beardies and no amount of domestication will get in the way of that. I've heard of stories about beardies as young as six months going into brumation. As long as a beardie is at a good size and weight, they're all good to go for brumation. And your beardie is over a year old, so it's not unexpected for him at all. I still recommend getting that fecal done, though. Just to rule out parasites.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
