Brumation?

I know this topic has been covered a lot, but I'm just not 100% sure what's going on.

I THINK he's going into brumation, but I want confirmations so I know it's not something serious. He was running around and was totally fine earlier. Right now his eyes are closed and he hardly responded when I opened the tank to get the picture. He is breathing. Should I be worried? And also, should I put crickets in the tank while he's like this or wait until he's awake?

He's pretty young for brumation. He may just be tired out. If you take him out of the tank does he perk up and become alert or does he look lethargic?

He actually woke up, chased some crickets and is fine now, so I think you’re right. I thought maybe brumation might be the cause because he’s never gone UNDER the paper before and I’ve heard sometimes beardies try to dig underneath the substrate when they’re going into brumation.

They will often burrow when they are sleeping too. It helps keep them warm and secure. I have small fleece blankets at the bottom of my tank and my guy burrows into them to sleep at night pretty often.

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
