Beardie won't hide in viv

So I've had my beardie for about 6 weeks or more, he is 11.5'' and his vivarium has all his necessities, but the thing is he never uses the hide inside his viv, and will only hide in a corner of the room (like under laundry or a dark place) when I take him out. Should I get/make a different hide? I'm using one I bought from the pet store (Its like a tree with a hole in it)

When I got my first beardie about a month or two back he did not like anything and he was a juvenile when I got him. If you have a large tank with a lot of open area it might scare him as it is a natural instinct to fear predators and open areas mean easy access to him. Might take a bit for him to get used to his place and if you got him as a hatchling, maybe longer. Could you post a picture of your tree also? And is it easy for him to get to? Dragons are weird and sometimes prefer sleeping in weird places versus the nice stuff you buy them. The older mine got the more he started going in his cave.
