Hello everyone! This post is going to be a little strange, but I want to know what your opinions are. My four year old male, Reptar, has a small giraffe plush toy. He has been playing with it for years (carrying it around the room, tugging on its ears, ect.). He seems to be fond of his giraffe, but recently he has been trying to mate with it. Should I take the giraffe away? Should I just let him 'do his thing'? I have caught him trying to mate with it four times now. From what I can tell, his hemipenes have never come out of his vent. Is this unusual? If he wants to get it on with his toy, I feel bad denying him that chance. Basically, I need to know if there is any reason I should put a stop to it. What do you guys think?

Again, I know this post is a little weird.

Normal .... he's just megahorny and getting his rocks off the only way he can. You'll survive , just laugh and let him be , it'll pass.

ok, I am laughing so hard, I can barely respond! Apparently, this does happen, sometimes, with no harm to either party. ??? My boy, Dezi, went through a time when he was...overly attracted...to his favorite stuffy, a dog toy that looked like a giant tick. It was hilarious! At first, I did not know what was going on, but eventually I started to suspect that he was, indeed, attempting coitus.

This happened when Dezi was 8 or 9 months old. He had been exhibiting signs of sexual puberty--territorial behaviors, bearding, even taking offence at shoes! he would run up to the offending shoe, stop, then bump it in slow motion. Guests thought he was greeting them, and found it charming, so I did not tell them he was not being "sweet".

He also "wrestled" with a pillow, which I discouraged, since my head was also on the pillow..("no, sorry, but one has to draw a line") After a few weeks, he settled down, and no more mating episodes have occured, since. I cannot think of any physical harm that this behavior might cause.

Here is Dezi, having his moment with tick.

Beardie porn here now .... LOL .... they are real characters and can be super expressive.

Having had male beardies over the last 7-8 years (Puff , then Toothless) I can tell you nothing on the floor was safe from their amorous attentions, We wised up and swapped Peppa's and Toothless' tanks (stacked 100L rearing tubs in first season) and then big 4x2sqs stacked .... Toothless would chat up the girls as soon as he was let get onto the floor , BBing and bobbing away and trying to find a way past the "force field" , Rex would play hard to get , while Peppa was a shameless flirt and was very funny to watch her doing the slow motion press up while doing alternating arm waves.

Miss the beardie flirting thing , now we only have the one beardie Peppa who lives for her daddy snuggles and has become the mega smooger.

Lol, I Agree with everyone, This is perfectly normal behaviour. Both of my males Thor and Loki have been super crazy lately with BBing, Foot stomping, and of course Head bobbing.

Loki has been trying to mate with EVERYTHING on the floor. Just be Glad that your beardie is attracted to a toy giraffe and not your feet. This is a picture of Thor trying to get over to his toy lizard to impress 'her' Lol. View media item 61020
and I just checked on Loki recently and he was trying to mate with his toy lizard.. Yesterday he tried mating with a Shoe, His plant, and Even his tank wall which was very amusing to watch. So I'd say to let your beardie have at it Lol :) .

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
