Wild Man After Shed?

Hi, Anyone have experience with their male beardie going a little wild after a full back shed? He was pretty sluggish for several days, back looked like it was ready to shed, then poof, his back finally started to shed and he went a little nuts in his tank, climbing, jumping, etc. I let him out and he zoomed around the floor. Even after most skin was off.

So much so that he climbed, pushed open his door (exo-terra tank) and got out! Fortunately, we found him pretty quickly. Lesson learned that I moved all tank decorations away from doors and triple check it's locked.

We have only had him for a few weeks and he has not yet shown this sort of interest/energy.

Wondered if it was an energy boost for having shed and feeling like a spring chicken or something. :)

Sheds can definitely get them riled up. I'd imagine shedding is fairly itchy and uncomfortable and I've seen them act up a bit like you're describing, and lose their appetite temporarily. Hopefully once the shed is complete he will settle back down.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
