Black beard, but happy

So I'm just courious, because lately my beardie has been having a black beard, but he is his happy colors and has no stress lines at all. He is about 8 months old right now, does he want to breed or something? That's what I've been thinking, but I'm not sure.

Quite possible. Has his energy level increased or have you seen restless behavior as well? Or has he been acting slow and lethargic?

He does seem a lot more restless.

Restless is better than lethargic. That usually means it's hormones or irritation at something rather than illness. Best thing to do in that case is give him room to run around and burn off energy until it passes. If you have a safe area of the house for him to roam around he may enjoy it.
