My bearded dragon is about 2-3 months old. For whatever reason, when I put him in the plastic tub I use to feed him crickets, he only seems to actually see the crickets if they are on a dark surface. I had to lay out brown paper on the bottom so he could see them. Is this usuall behavior? What's going on?

It's possible he has trouble identifying them without the dark background. Does he have any trouble catching them once he identifies them? Sometimes they don't go after bugs unless they move around as well. Are they moving around much?

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
