I got a BD about a week ago. He's about a year old. previous owner could no longer take care of him. I took him along with his 40 gal breeder tank. He was in sand; I removed that. I replaced both lights basking and upgraded to reptisun 10.0 (just put in today). Now my house does get cold, but I am making sure that I keep "his room" (room that his tanks in) above 65F at all times. He now has slate tile, sphagnam moss in a corner for him because he likes to hide his head under it when he sleeps. The previous owner said that he didn't like his basking light. Also made it sound like the only thing they would feed him is collard greens adn crix once a month or so. I am feeding him romane lettuce, carrots, apples, cucumber, green bell pepper, and a dozen crix once or twice a week. He seems to be alert ect, but hasn't been eating much, has stress marks (and has since i picked him up), and seems to sleep alot. When I get him out he just sits on my chest and sleeps.

Is he in brumation? how long does it last? What else can I do for him? Is he just adjusting to his new environment?

*Can we try not to get off subject please*

Romaine is bad for them, has no nutritional value... but doens't sound like brumation to me. Sounds like he's stressed from the move.

Really? ok. I'll use the collard greens. I figured Romane was the best of the lettuce catagory. Is there a list of foods and weather they are good for them or not somewhere?

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
