Little baby cuteness!

Today, while I as out running errands, my husband was home, alone, left to his own devices. I was gone, maybe 3 hours, tops.
I came from to find that he had bought our baby beardie a new enclosure. No, not the one I intended to buy, but it's the thought that counts, right? And don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the new one he bought, but for anyone who knows me in real life, knows I am a perfectionist and I HAVE to plan things before they actually happen. I don't really do surprises.
So, our baby beardie, Spike, is roughly 2.5 months old, if that and only 9 inches long right now. (We did get her from a local pet store, so age is approximate, on March 26th so we haven't had her very long.)

So, now that her tank is even BIGGER (which bigger is better, I know, but I don't think she cares at this age.)
Tonight has resulted in a LOT of glass scratching and dancing. Which, yes, she does have stress marks, but come on; how would you feel if your house got even bigger AFTER you had just gotten used to the other one?! A little overwhelming right?

I am a mother- children wise, canine wise, and now reptile wise. If you see your little one stressed and panicked, you're going to react right? Of course. Most would. And what would you likely do? Pick them up, obviously.

This is the end result of Spike:

And yes, that is my shirt she is snuggled in. <3 But how could you deny such a little cutey? She just needed some cuddles.

Aww poor little buddy had an emotionally exhausting day :)

As soon as my dragons get restless I'm right there to try and soothe them, picking them up, snuggling them, telling them they're OK, so I can totally relate (and I'm no mom)

Spike is loving her new tank, now that she has gotten used to it. I am pretty sure that there isn't an inch she hasn't checked out and licked. Haha.

Just an interesting story:
We, yes Spike and I, were in the kitchen as she had just had breakfast, her dusted dubias, and I was dropping her food dish off so I could wash it. As I was standing at the sink, she crawled right down my arm (I had a long sleeve shirt on so it was pretty easy for her) and jumped onto one of my unused dishcloths that sits on my counter top. She would not, for anything, let go of that cloth! She even puffed up at me when I tried to move her off of it. She was so cute and adorable that I couldn't deny her it. I am a softly for all of my animals.

She has a new thing where she absolutely LOVES to snuggle herself down into your clothes and to be covered up (pick above). So, after I washed the cloth, even though she gave me quite the stink eye for making her give it up, to make sure there wasn't anything on it (just to be on the safe side with my kids and husband around, I never quite know for sure), it is now inside her tank and she is quite content, snuggling underneath it.

She sounds adorable
I love that she got all huffy when wanting to take it away, but so glad she won in the end and gets to keep it. So spoiled :D

I don't even think spoiled comes close to summing it up. Haha. I fell in love the first time I got to hold her. My oldest son picked her out before his Spring break and during his break, he spent his time to his grandparents. I have had lots of time with her and she stole my heart. I am pretty sure my husband is a little jealous with all the time I spend with her and not him.

It definitely doesn't take long :D My oldest dragon is my first dragon, having had her almost 2 years, and I can't believe I've gone my whole life up until then never having owned one. They are my everything, and yes, my partner appears to be jealous of my love for them but that's a whole story on its own

We got Spike on March 26th to be exact. We got her from a locally owned pet store near us. She is roughly 2, maybe, 2.5 months old now. She is only 9 inches long, but the pet store made a point to say that she grew faster than the rest, (hence why I am estimating on age.)
But she is so small, and cute; I can't help but want to cuddle her! I wish I had known about bearded dragons sooner. I have had Leopard Geckos for the past 5 years, but no beardies.

It was so nice outside today. Spike's first time actually being outside in the sunlight.

This is the look I got when it started to get cloudy and the sun was hiding:

One more. She looked at me like it was my fault the sunshine was vanishing:

(Her stress marks only appeared after the giant, yellow thing drove by, my oldest's school bus.)

She looks like she's having a great time already!
Don't worry too much about the "stress" marks, they're constantly there at that age and have a really unfortunate name.
I had my oldest outside yesterday and she was pretty chill with it, then hopped off the patio table onto my lap and scuttled up my shirt til she was tucked between my neck and shoulder. I took that as the sign of "ok I wanna go back in now"

She was outside for a good 20 minutes, possibly even more before the clouds took over and the wind started to pick up. She was quite interested in a bee that was hovering over one of the dandelions in the yard. She turned her head so many times to watch that bee, you would think her neck would hurt.

I like that they have their own little personalities and their own way of telling us things. It's interesting.

Aww I love this! About the same age/size as my "kids"! There's no way mine will hang out with me like this , or in the kitchen. Im terrified of them escaping or my cat snatching one! They're especially grumpy this week as some more shed is about to happen :( yours is so cute!

Thank you! And I can assure you, I was a lot more scared and nervous than she could ever be. Haha.

Oh, trust me, she is still very squirmy and skittish, especially if my boys are around. Not so much my 7 year old, but my 3 year old is in that phase where he just wants to go! The faster he can run through the house the happier he is. I think my youngest scares her, moving around so quickly, which I don't blame her.

For the first time taking her outside, she was pretty calm and relaxed just sitting on my leg. Her head turned and tilted to the point you would think her neck would hurt though, but ultimately, I think she enjoyed herself. :)

So, the hubby tells me that I am 'too fascinated' with taking pictures of Spike.... I haven't the slightest clue what he is talking about. :p I can't help that I think she is cute and adorable!

This is her new 'blanket' that she refused to give up the other day:

This is how she is currently lounging in her tank:

Relaxing like it's her job (little chubby belly!):

Yeah, she definitely wasn't paying me any attention whatsoever; just lounging, relaxing, all stretched out, sitting under her light. <3 I couldn't help myself, she just looked so darn comfortable!

I absolutely love that she has claimed that "blanket", it's so cute!
My phone is just full of dragon, frog, and cat pics

Here's a cute sleeping photo of Richter when he was still little

Dawww! He looks absolutely comfortable!

I always take Spike into the other room to feed her. Afterwards, we were lounging on the bed and she just takes off like a little jet! This is a couple of the pictures I got of her. She was sitting on my pillow, watching intently at the kids walking down the street, sitting in the sunshine.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
