hi, i live with friends..and we have 2 sister beardies....now mine (spikette) is doing fine....greedy cow and a pest from time to time lol, quacker is quiet and cute and has all the agility.

however..i fed them hoppers last night..all was good, but ive come back from work this evening and my friend who i live with is worried as her baby (quacker) is not eating at all, there are 6 hoppers in her viv, she lies under her heatlamp, hoppers clambering on her and just not eating.

i got her out..gave her about half hour hugging and loving..and she got active again..but as soon as i put her in her viv...she just went back into the previous state.

shes not eating food by hand or by choice...any ideas?

p.s.

she stopped eating veg for about 2weeks...a nibble here and there but not much..

i personally think its constipation or a hissy fit.

any help would be appreciated!

p.p.s what is brumation? i hear it a lot..but have no clue

kind regards,

Rhys

Hi there,
Sorry to hear your little one is worrying you.
Here is a great article on Brumation. Hopefully it can answer your questions:
http://www.beardeddragon.org/articles/brumation/

If you still have worries and need to chat could you answer the following questions?

How old is your dragon?
How long have you had your dragon?
How long is your dragon?
What is the sex of your dragon?
What size enclosure do you have your dragon in?
What type substrate do you have on the bottom of your tank?
Do you use UVB lights?
If so, Is it a coil, compact, fluorescent tube, or Mercury Vapor bulb?
What is the brand name and number of your bulb? Wattage (if MVB)?
How old is your UVB bulb?
How close can your dragon get to the UVB?
Do you use a separate basking bulb? What kind and what is the wattage?
What are the basking temps?
What is the cool side temp?
Do you take the temps with a stick on thermometer, a digital thermometer with a wire and a probe end or a temp gun?
Where exactly are you taking your basking temps?
Do you use a heat rock or heat pad?
What do you feed your dragon? Please be specific.
How often do you feed and what time do you feed (morning, afternoon, night)?
Do you gutload (feed) your crickets, worms, etc?
Do you use vitamin or calcium supplements? What brand(s)? How many days a week do you use each of them?
Is your dragon having regular bowel movements (poops)?
Do you bath your dragon? How often?
Do you mist your dragon or offer water other than in the bath?
Does your dragon share an enclosure with another dragon?
Have you gotten a vet check and fecal done?

Hello,

Yes, answering the questionnaire will really help us out alot, thanks.
One thing is did you leave the hoppers in the tank overnight with them? If so, that will stress them out big time. They could actually bite them, too.
Please take any feeders out within 15 minutes or so if they do not eat them, or try feeding them outside of their tank.
Are they housed together?

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
