I’m making this post to see if anyone has something new I can try before bringing my bearded dragon to the vet! About a week and a half ago, Jupiter, stopped pooping and then stopped eating. He developed a slight bump in his spine, his vent looks different than normal, and his *man parts* seem larger. Other than that, he’s had a perpetual black beard. I know this means he is irritated, but he’s never had it perpetually before! He also has a swollen wound on his upper right arm that I have no idea where it came from. Occasionally I will try to put him on his basking platform, but he only sits for a few minutes then gets off. I’ve tried everything! His favorite food is raspberries, which he’s refusing. I feed him collard or dandelion greens daily, often with squash and he’s refusing them which isn’t normal. I also bought bee pollen to see if he would eat if that was on his salads, but no. He also is refusing his crickets.
I’ve offered him food every day that he won’t eat, and I’ve been giving him warm baths where I massage his belly to try to get him to poo. I’ve fed him prunes and olive oil and he managed to get some poo out a few days ago, but since then the behavior is still going on and he still won’t poo on his own. When he tries, only the calcium part will come out.
His temps are 91F on his basking spot and 81F on his cool side. Usually, that will be the exact temperature he’d love to bask at. I have the 150 watt ZooMed basking spot lamp, and a ZooMed T5 high output UVB strip light.
I’ve tried everything!! I know he looks skinny, he’s never been a very chunky guy but previously he’s always eaten very well.
