SOS i’m so worried about my bearded dragon I’ve been away at school so my mom’s been taking care of her and when I got back she wasn’t really eating much and pooping every 2 to 3 days and was mostly staying on the cool side of the tank. So I brought her to the vet and they said that she was totally fine so then I went back to school and now I’m home for good and she’s been staying on the cool side almost completely I never really wants to get up,, she has not really been eating or pooping so I brought her to the vet again she was super dehydrated so they gave me a laxative to put her on because she had compaction and they gave her vitamins and fluids. Her stool was coming out basically in pieces she doesn’t really eat still and she stays on the cool side they started her on liquid calcium twice a day. When I gave it to her today she twist her head like three times like really quick and it scared me so much does anyone know what this could be I am praying that it’s not the beginning of MBD. When she moves around she’s very alert but she always wants to be on the cool side what do I do? (She is about 7 1/2 months)

Hello,

Can you review your tank setup with us, such as the type/brand of UVB Lighting?
It is always possible she is developing metabolic bone disease but if you are starting her
on liquid calcium hopefully that will help reverse or stop the progression.
While she is on liquid calcium twice a day, be sure to monitor her urates to make sure
they are not too hard or becoming discolored. It should only be given twice daily for short
term.

On the left I have a Exo Terra mercury vapor bulb along with a addition basking light in a ceramic heat lamp to get it to 100 degrees. She is in a 120 gallon tank.

The Exo Terra is a Solar Glo? What wattage and distance do you have this at -- I am thinking you need to add another UVB -- is its often recommended that another UVB is used to cover the UVB exposure --- we need to determine if the distance and placement is correct -- in the mean time I would get another UVB a tube fixture like this your tank 24" fixture it will come w/ a 5.0 bulb hand on to it it can be used as a back up but placement and distance is different from the bulb you need a 22" bulb https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/zoo-med-reptisun-10.0-uvb-t5.html
I recommend you get this ordered ASAP--- it will need to go inside your tank w/a distance of 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor piece

Hello,

How is your dragon doing tonight?
Wow, she is a lucky girl, having such a large tank. What are the temperatures getting to, using
the Solar Glo? That is a pretty good bulb. How close is the bulb to her?
Has she eaten anything?
If you can post pictures of the tank & of her that would be great!

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
