Trying to figure out how serious this is for our 4-5month old Beardie Pepper.

Right now I’m hoping

1. Retained Shed
2. Calcium Deficiency
3. UVB deficiency

And

Not Tail Rot. Any experienced Beardie owners want to help out a newb.

This little guy has grown on our family quite quickly and we want to make sure he’s get the best health.

Thanks

Hi there, is the tail wet, if so can you post a pic with it dry, in better light and on a light solid color background ? It doesn't look like tail rot but it does seem thinner at the end but a clearer pic might help too determine.

So I took the poor guy in to the vet and the tail was necrotic. The guess was a retained shedding issue maybe cut off circulation to the tip but the Vet said it’s hard to diagnose but he’s otherwise healthy. They cut off the necrotic tip and said to watch it to make sure it’s not spreading.

Hello,

That is my thought, it was probably retained shed which is very common. Do you have any
raw, unpasteurized honey you could put on the end, to help ward off any chances of infection?
I hope he is doing alright after his vet visit!

Our little dude seems to be doing well... slightly smaller now ? but okay. I don’t see any additional necrotic tail so that’s a plus but we are still monitoring it closely. Thanks for all the input and help.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
