Dev Bit Into The Side of His Tongue

Hello!
This is my first time posting, though I’ve stalked these pages for beardie advice for a few years now. I’m mom to a special boy DeVito who is almost 4 years old. When we was a baby, he was very active and loved to climb things in his tank and in my bedroom. Anyway, when he was about a year old, I noticed he was dragging himself around by his arms. All of his lights were new, I was dusting his crickets and worms, he was eating his veggies, but still he wasn’t using all of his limbs. I took him to the vet and they said everything with his bones looked fine and said it was a neurological thing. He moves around a lot, just never uses his legs.
Fast forward to now.

He loves to eat but has to be hand fed now or he won’t be able to catch all of his bugs. For past couple of weeks, while he’s eating, his tongue will flip over in his mouth and get in the way. I noticed this because when it would happen, he would open his mouth wide to flip it back. Today I noticed a deep cut on the side of his tongue while he was munching on waxworms. It looked deep, and it seemed as if a piece was partially bit off. I’m freaking out, but I can’t be out of the house unless it’s absolutely necessary due to Covid and living with an elderly person.
Has this happened to anyone? What should I do?
He doesn’t seem to be bothered by it as he continues to eat normally and his appetite is still there.

Any help anyone can offer would be very much appreciated!

Hi there,

Odd situation definitely but the good news is he's not bothered by it and it's not affecting his eating.
That really would be the only issue with a tongue cut/gash - lack of appetite. But since his is ok, there isn't much to do about it.

Keep an eye on it and make sure it's not affecting his eating. It's unlikely to get infected but still, keep an eye on it if you can.

He’s an odd boy lol, but he’s my baby! Thank you so much for responding! I’m so relieved! I will continue to watch him.
