looks like it might be mbd. lighting can really be important.i got a rescue once that had lighting since we wasborn but the uvb fixture the petstore sold had a plasticshieldoverthe light and that clearplastic shieldbvlblocked the uvb light and the poor guy got mbd. uvb lights need to be changed out because they wil llower their uvb output but still light,so once a year or so i swap my lights out. i use megaray bulbs from www.reptileuv.com. i discovered them caring for my initial rescue who had mbd.

if your guy 2willeat collard greens, they are really high in calcium, maybe doublecheck the dates on your vitamins and clacium, they can expire. good jobon getting them into the vet.

it's not his lighting they were changed recently I believe it's him not eating when there's calcium in his food because he doesn't like it. but my past beardie was a rescue from a school who only feed him crickets and he was very underweight he also had MBD and I took him to the vet and I gave him calcium injections but sadly he passed a month after receiving him.

butter worms and phoenix worm are high in calcium.i never had a problem with my guys not eating due to dusting but i have had some rescues with mbd. also vitamins are important of course i have had some success supplementing with Beardie bites. Hopefully the vet has some good advice for you and good luck

I 've got someone else looking at the video --- if your using a coil UVB here is some info on that
Which UVB light should I use?
The best UVB light is a ReptiSun 10.0 fluorescent tube HO (Or Arcardia 12% in the UK). Compact or coil bulbs do not emit the proper amount of UVB light for a bearded dragon, and should not be used. Other brands, such as the Zilla Desert Series and ReptiGlo have been known to cause eye problems and other health issues with bearded dragons, and should be avoided. The reason that some UVB lights (Zilla, ReptiGlo, coils/compacts, ect.) are considered dangerous is because the wavelength of UVB that they emit is shorter and more intense than the wavelength of the "safe" lights (ReptiSun, Arcadia). UVB lights should be replaced every 6 months. The T5’s are a strong bulb and only need to be replaced once a year – the T 8 every 6 months--- where as the T 8 are not as strong—they need to be placed inside the tank the T 5 10.0 bulb approx 12-15 inches from basking spot – the T 8 approx 6-8 inches from basking spot—the cover needs to be off the bulb for full effect of the UVB rays--
Head shaking is a sign of MBD--

my light is coiled but it lies on its side not faced down I'm taking him to the vet and after he sees the vet I'll ask them what they think of the light bulbs I use to be on the safe side but I got recommended by a family owned pet store whom are very passionate about them. they also use the same bulbs with there own reptiles

here's my light

my vet also specialises in reptiles

I am sorry but the coil UVB's are inadequate ---------- I would get it replaced as soon as you can --- especially for 40 + gallon tanks --------- I posted info on the UVB's --- if you need help getting it replaced please ask -- I also posted a link to from one of our mods on here that have tons of experience w/ dragons along w/ some others on here - but the coils are really no good - I cant express that enough - if your vet takes blood or does other test please get copies of the visit - we have a vet tech mod on here that is good at reading xrays blood work etc - she can help as well and you can get a second opinion so to speak --- but really you need to ditch the coil and invest in a fixture like this
https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-terrarium-hood.html 22" I recommend this bulb it is very good and since hes showing signs of MBD this one would be really good

I think I'll invest in one of those lights in the next month or so because I'm planning on upgrading very soon (like next month) and I want one which will cover the back of the tank. He has also always had a coiled bulk so i don't think it will hurt for a few weeks.

He will continue to decline -- w/ his head shaking its getting worse - please do not buy a fixture the length of the tank you only need it 2/3rds at most - I use 24" fixtures in my 120 gallon tanks or 4x2x2 - you want him to be able to get out of the rays w/ out having to hide from it --- in the meantime get him outside for good UVB place him on you or in a plastic tote NO GLASS for 15 minute in the tote longer on you for as long as you can stand the heat -- you can put him in direct sunlight / partial shade make sure you supervise him --- for 15 minutes -- you can do this several times per day till you get the UVB replaced --- I would do it as soon as you can ---

Will do although the vet was closed today and I'll call them tomorrow to book for early Saturday morning because of work. Also will put up anything useful on here. But my beardie hates being outside and all it does is makes him go black and puffy so I'm not sure if it will work out because I don't want him to stress.

Well do what you can but the outside UVB is going to benefit him in the long run - in the meantime I would ditch the coil its not doing any good anyway - in fact it may be harming him --

i have a spotin oine ofmy rooms where the window has no screen.i try to sit in the direct un filtered or unscreened sunlight for like 15 minbutes a day.theres no substitute for real sunlight. Most ofthe time unless i am holding ,or unless it is really early or late they will try to escape the natural sunlight .i usually watch and can tell when they have had enough wwhen they stop being dark and soaking it up .They get far more active when they are exposed to natural 7sunlight daily and when they are getting proper uvb. When i started using those megaray bulbs the change was immediate in behavior and appetite. Maybe you can find a way for yours to get some direct sunlight indoors if youcant find a way to hang with him outdoors for 15 minutes a day :)

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
