Hello,

Can you review your tank setup with us?
Does he cough or push his beard out at any other time that you have noticed?
He could be just reacting to your hand coming over him possibly, or if it is frequent
enough then maybe a respiratory issue.

I noticed it latnight that she was coughing quite a bit. I have a 4 month old in a 60gal tank. I have reptisun 10.0 mounted inside and a 100w heat bulb hot side and cool side is at 81degrees and basking at 101-105! The issue it that I noticed the humidity pretty high at 40-50% but at night maybe higher! During the day though I have seen it at 35-40% nothing absolutely crazy. Nothing they wouldn’t see in a humidity spike in the wild!

The Reptisun 10.0 is a T 8 or a T 5? So there is no mucous coming out of the nose or mouth -- the humidity is fine as long as its not 70% --- and is she doing this all the time? Can you take a video on youtube and post the link in the message box of when she doing this -- it would help

Ok that could be a burp I have seen mine do the same thing --- her beard is not black and she looks like she has good coloring--- if she was in pain or distress her beard would be black -- just keep an eye on her if she starts doing it constantly and gets a black beard or becomes lethargic not eating etc then you know something is going on---------- also her T 8 should be 6-8 inches from her basking decor piece directly underneath it-- and NO plastic cover if there is one covering the bulb -- it needs to be exposed

She was doing it pretty consistently lastnight from about 8pm-lights off at 12 she didnt not eat her dinner but again seems to be in no stress! As if she had like hiccups or a cough!

Is she doing it today? Are you feeding her 2-3 hrs before lights off? She needs that time to start to digest her food before lights out-- Hiccuping is more of what it looks like --

Yes she just woke up and is still coughing! My aunt is an exotic vet and will be picking her up monday morning which is tomorrow to take her to her vets office. I have not fed yet im waiting for her to warm up for the 2-3 hours then I will try feeding! She still seems alert and is in her basking spot! She doesn’t seem fatigued and still shows no black beard.

Ok good that you have a relative that is a exotic vet --- handy :) -- my guess is she will take xrays and do some blood work to see if there is an infection going on -- let us know how shes doing please

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
