Yellow Fungus? New to Beardies

Hey everybody! I'm a little nervous right now because I'm worried that my beard has yellow fungus. At first I thought it could be a bad shed or something but I am new to owning bearded dragons so I don't really know. I actually just adopted her last week. Her last owner didn't want to keep her because she is really sick, so I took her in. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

The skin issues do look pretty suspicious to me. Can you take a few more pictures of your
dragon so we can see the overall condition of him?
How long has it looked this way?
How close can he get to his basking light?
For now, I would consider getting him to a vet if at all possible to see if you can get those areas
analyzed for fungus.
How is his appetite doing?

Hi there, can you ask the previous owners if she was kept with any other dragons ? What can happen is that a dominant male may attempt to breed constantly and they bite the back of the neck while doing so. Even another female can do that once in a great while to express dominance. You can put some raw honey on, it's a powerful antimicrobial + works well on all wounds . Just be sure there are no loose insects in the tank because they will hide during the day but come out at night to eat at the wound.

Yes, she was kept with a male and actually had a pretty big clutch of eggs right before I got her. The previous owner just threw the eggs away. He said that he decided to separate her and the male because he was attacking her. Would the yellow be scar tissue?

I'm not sure how long it has looked that way, since I have only had a her a week, but her previous owner said she looked even worse than she does now and that she was almost completely unresponsive to him. I think that she was without any sort of uv lighting for a long time though. She is a good eater and is slowly gaining weight, however, It's a real struggle to get her to eat her veggies  she only weighed at 140 grams last week now I've got her to 170 g so we're getting there. heres some more picture of her. Her tail doesn't look too good either.

Poor little abused girl, so yes those are bite marks from the male constantly mating with her. This can happen to a degree even if they only mate once if the male is super aggressive but he obviously did it over + over. That will heal up with some honey. Give her two or three 5 minute warm soaks a week in a watered down betadine bath. It's good that she has an appetite, it's O.K if she prefers insects, you can even feed her 2 meals a day since she's still the size of a juvenile. The insects shouldn't be too big though, and not too many superworms. Her tail is crooked because of calcium deficiency.

Thanks so much for the info about the honey. Should I put a little Neosporin on it as well? Like the kind of neosporin that doesn't have pain killers in it, or will the honey be fine? I can't even imagine what her previous living conditions were like :( I'm hoping I can get her into better shape.

I think raw [ unpasteurized ] honey is best since it can promote tissue granulation but you could mix the 2 if you like. And this poor girl must be soooo relieved to be away from the male. Finally some peace and a break from the harassing .

Hello,

Poor thing! Well, she is in a good home now so hopefully she will settle in for you soon.
Just go slow & steady on the weight gain so it doesn't stress her kidneys any. It may take
her awhile to recognize greens & vegetation as food since she likely hasn't had any at all.
I'm sure she will start doing a lot better now that she isn't in with another dragon, too.
The raw honey or neosporin on the tail, to help with infection.

Let us know how she is doing.

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
