can someone help me?!? I was advised on bearded dragon forums to come post here. I am worried my bearded dragon might have tail rot. The tail feels like it’s retaining moisture but the tip looks weird but it could also be my cat got to his little tail. Please someone help. He is also in the middle of shedding too so is that the discoloration Or is it the tail rot? Someone said it may have been pinched (but most likely it would of been thanks to my damn cat Because we never have pinched his tail) also I don’t know how to upload a picture ):

https://www.beardeddragon.org/useruploads/#new this is the user image uploader, pictures would greatly help. Did you get him with a tail nip or possibly he could have had a tail nip in the past.

When you post a reply look for the XIMG button and then you would be able to choose which pictures to post.

Hi there,

The tail definitely looks damaged from the cat. Is there any open wounds?

It likely can develop into tail rot if not taken care of properly.
How long ago was the cat attack?

If it hasn't been too long, there is a good chance that you can fend off any infection that might set in. But if it's been awhile already, the bacteria would have had time to start settling in and that can definitely lead to tail rot. In which case, being proactive and having the vet amputate the tail above the damage would be best.

However, if it's recent, the most important thing is to keep it clean and sterile so that the wounds can heal without infection. Raw unpasteurized honey works extremely well for this. Keeps the bacteria away and works to kill bacteria in the wound that it can get to.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
