Adult male beardie hardly eating

Postby Sierrap » Fri Mar 08, 2019 8:06 am

My boy Zeus has been hardly eating and pooping. He’s still very very active which confuses me because that means he’s out of burmation but he’s still not eating/pooping? He will take bugs no problem but I almost have to force feed him greens/fruits/veggies. Any tips?

Hello,

That is great news that Zeus is so active after coming out of brumation. It is somewhat typical
that they will want only bugs when they come out without vegetation right away.
Keep trying with the greens/veggies. You have tried mixing in a few worms, brightly colored
pieces of bell peppers or squash, or maybe minced up berries or mango in with his salad?
That sometimes helps, but not all of the time. You could get some sugar free apple sauce &
lightly drizzle a little bit over the greens or some sweet potato baby food, too.
