My mom has a female bearded dragon that has a prolapse and we have been reading your forum to try and help her but not sure if it is necrotic. could you please tell me what you think, we have been at this for several hours now. I would like to send a picture. We would like to know if you can use Vaseline or aloe Vera to keep it moist until she can get her to the vet?

. Well as it turns out we had followed all your recommendations on what to do and as we were putting Vaseline on it I noticed it seemed like it would go back in fairly easy, so we pushed it gently in and amazingly it seems ok but could it still get infected and what signs should we watch for? We still weren’t sure if it was necrotic all I can say is it wasn’t hard tissue.

Hi there, good to hear that it went back in !! Now it's very important to go over her care. Please post pics of her entire set up incuding lights. What type of uvb bulb do you use and what are the temps. in the tank ? What is she eating ? Be sure to keep her hydrated, don't feed her for 3-4 days and feed only small amounts of soft food after that. This way she won't try pooing anytime soon and prolapse again. Offer water by dripping it on her snout and if she will drink while being soaked you can do that as well.

Some of the causes of prolapse can be impaction [ food, substrate ] low temps. so she can't digest food properly, eggbound, parasites, dehydration .

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
