Hello,

Hm, that is a bit of swelling & it doesn't really look like metabolic bone disease or shedding
to me. How long has it looked like this?
Please review your tank setup with us, so we can be sure everything is all setup properly,
along with your supplementation also.

Hello thanks for your response and sorry for the late reply, it's been swollen like this for about a week now I believe, but she hasn't show any signs of pain when I touch it or seems to be walking funny,

this was her old set-up (moved her yesterday because I got a new few week old dragon) which has I think a reptisun for her UVB (10.0) and a 50watt basking bulb, she eats a variation of crickets, waxworms, calci-worms and a few hoppers as for veg she has rocket, watercress (other leaves I forgot the name of sorry but no lettuce/super watery veg) she's well hydrated and poos fine too, as for supplementation I give her calcidust from prorep during the week and at the weekend give her netrobal for her multivitamins in the weekend.
She's about 6-7 months old, and if you need a picture of her new set-up here it is and the UVB/basking bulb is from the same company except the bulb is 75watt because her new viv is 4foot instead of 3.

Hello,

Thanks for the pictures of the setup.
Which brand of tube bulb are you using now, the Reptisun 10? One thing you could do would
be to mount the long tube bulb directly overhead & underneath of the screen top to increase the
UVB exposure for her. The UVB reflects downward towards her when mounted overhead but
doesn't reflect onto her very well when mounted on the back wall.
A 4 foot tank is a great size! What are the temperatures in the tank?
I am thinking she has developed pseudo gout which is just caused by nutritional issues like not
absorbing her calcium & other vitamins properly. That is most likely caused by the UVB light
placement but this can be remedied to where she wont develop full blown gout.
Let us know how she is doing.

Hello thanks for your response, I believe it's a reptisun 10, sadly I don't remember what I got and don't have the packaging but it's what the people at the reptile specialist shop told us to get, they set up the 4 foot tank for us and they have loads of reptiles more then dragons so I trust what they say, and my few month old beardie (Yuno) has the same set-up pretty much and hasn't had any issues what-so-ever, I'll see if I can mount it directly above but I don't really think that I can, as for temps her basking spot is about 35-40c and her cool side is about 22-27c. One thing I can think of as to why she doesn't get enough UVB is that she likes to hide in her log a lot, I'm not sure why but I try encourage her out as much as possible, if you have any other ideas please let me know, thanks in advance!

EDIT: This is what Brink has had for the first month http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/linear_fluorescent_bulbs.php, I got this from a different place but what she has now is a reptisun, probably gonna get it replaced for a reptisun since my new few week old baby beardie is using her old viv but not sure if exo-terra is good but they seem to have good reviews on their UVB lights but wonder what you have to say about it. Thanks again

EDIT 2: Sorry also have to ask because I'm really worried and can't really seem to find anything online about pseudo gout just gout is it serious and should I seek a vet?

Hello,

I do hope you are able to find a way to attach the tube bulb overhead. When mounting it on the
back wall, the UVB is refracting outwards & away from your dragon. Some develop symptoms
before others do, it depends on genetics.
Which Reptiglo tube do you use, the 10? Those are ok, but not real strong. So, having them
mounted properly at a 6-8 inch distance is important.
Pseudo gout is where the kidneys haven't really become damaged yet, but the system is having
some problems balancing out the calcium, phosphorus & uric acid levels. When they are unable
to absorb calcium, or other vitamins/minerals, etc, their body's levels of various readings like the
calcium, phosphorus, protein, AST (liver enzyme) Uric acid (kidneys), & others. It can cause the
psdeuo gout symptoms you are seeing. Many times they begin developing metabolic bone disease
too.

Let us know how he is doing.

Yes I'm using the 10, I'll see about getting a different one for my new beardie, as for mounting it above I'll see what I can do, but it is roughly 6-8 inches away from my beardie's basking spot, only thing it doesn't cover is the very front of the vivarium which they rarely go to. Also what can I do to cure/help stop gout? She seems fine as I said, poos fine eats moves but it just looks swollen. Is there anything I should feed her, look for medicine? Thanks

Quick update, bought 3 new UVB lights for my dragons, (http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/arcadia-d3-12%25-uvb-high-output-t5-reptile-lamp-%28online-only%29) I bought 2 22 Inch ones for my 3 foot vivariums and a 54 watt one for my 4 foot vivarium, just wondering if this'll be better then the current ones I have? My old ones are 10% so went ahead and bought 12% because I saw they have a much higher reach therefore combatting my bad UVB placement and hopefully just being better in general then my old ones, heard they were really good, thanks for any input
