Please Help. Arm Bleeding. No use of Legs.

My Beardie has been sick lately. Started of with no use of her legs. Then one of her arms. It was swollen. I woke up this morning to her being upside down and her arm that was swollen was bleeding. No longer swollen. I need help. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how else to explain her condition being as how I am a new owner. I can attach a picture but I don’t know how to do it on here.

This sounds really bad! Please get her to the vet ASAP! Beardies will always right themselves if they are able because they can't breathe right upside down, so something major is going on.

I agree - this is a VET EMERGENCY , I'd say it is something that should have been dealt with by a REPTILE VET when you first noticed the swelling.

I'd be on the phone to the nearest reptile vet and telling them you are bringing in your critically ill dragon RIGHT NOW.
Your dragon needs IMMEDIATE help.

I have been in contact with a vet which recommended repta boost, warm baths, organic baby food(prune)...
She is very alert today. Moving around with just her hands, back two legs still not so much. She is now using her hand that was bleeding. She does have a vet visit scheduled for Friday.

Did the vet ACTUALLY physically examine him ?

If not …. wt....? I don't think you understand how ill your dragon is , a ruptured abscess (?) on a arm/leg is not a trivial matter.

If your dragon was a human and something similar happened , you could expect an ambulance ride to the ER and admission to hospital for treatment for blood poisoning & cellulitis using intravenous antibiotic therapy for weeks and likely surgery to debride all infected tissue and hidden abscesses. This happened to me after a badly corked thin from a fall down my front steps became septic and two 2 large abscesses formed requiring two lots of surgery and 9 months of in home daily wound care by a wound specialist registered nurse in home (I came very close to dying or loosing my left leg !!).


You really need to front up with your dragon at the vet's clinic and demand they fit your dragon in TODAY ….

That situation doesn't sound real good at all. Is your dragon housed alone, or did he/she get
out of the tank somehow & get injured either by a dog or cat?
I'm glad she seems to be doing better & that you are able to get some food & fluids into her.
Try to keep her from being too active if her arm is injured, so she doesn't hurt it any further.
You have a vet visit this Friday for her, correct?
