This is my rescue bearded dragon. He’s severely skinny I had him for about almost a month. Doesn’t have parasites he was tested. I have uvb and uva proper tank size clean water etc. I give him various greens (mustard, collard, some kale etc) and my bigger mealworms (soft shelled). Any tips for fattening he’s way too skinny bones are showing maybe wax worms or mice ? Any help is appreciated and usually how long does it take for him to get fatter and the bones to go away?

Slowly build up the live insect protein ( good choices are silkworms, crickets, roaches & locusts) …. slowly because because a sudden increase in protein intake will be very hard on the emaciated dragon's kidneys.
I think it will be a very good idea to have a REPTILE VET check for other health issues.
You need to read this : CRITICAL CARE NUTRITION AND FLUID THERAPY IN REPTILES https://www.avianexoticvetcare.com/userfiles/Reptile_Critical_Care_IVECCS_2009.pdf

It's taken a LONG time for the dragon to become as emaciated , and it will take several weeks (months) to recover.

Mice ARE NOT a good idea.... he's not a snake.

Mealworms and superworms are OK to get him eating , use as bribes .

Choose from better insects listed here : viewtopic.php?f=76&t=234999&p=1807834#p1807834
better means : highest protein, lowest fat, highest Ca/P.

Hello,

I'm glad you rescued him! ? He's a cute beardie. ?

The ways to build up weight is first hydration, give him water via eye dropper and baby food like chicken or turkey or sweet peas or carrot. Next is good like collard, mustard, dandelion, or endive greens.

Finally is bugs like Dubia roaches, crickets, hornworms, silkworms, black soldier fly larvae, and super worms. Do insects last and only about 3x a week to not overload his kidneys.

I Hope he does well for you! ?

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
