Blitz is my son's dragon he's about 9 months old. Just recently I noticed a bump on his lower jawline. When I opened his mouth to look closer i saw an almost fang like tooth from his upper jaw in his mouth was digging into his lower jaw causing a sore. We have a vet appointment on Friday. Does anyone know what this could be?

Hello,

I haven't heard of anything like that unless there is some type of abscess/sore developing
there. Do you have a picture of that we could see?
It sounds like some type of injury possibly, but not sure.
Is he able to eat?

Sure it's a tooth and not a splinter or sharp piece of some kind of foreign object that he's encountered mixed in amongst his live insects or veg and has stick into his gum or lip ?

I'd get a vet take a look , if it's a splinter or sharp shard of something (maybe oyster shell from the Calcium "powder" used to dust his insects and salad) , the vet will be able to remove it and prescribe a short course of antibiotics to give him to ensure it doesn't fester and become something nastier like a abscess.

Tanks for the responseswill get a picture uploaded after he wakes up in the am. He is eating normal and doesn't seem to be lethargic. The only other thing he is doing more than often is holding his mouth open.

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
