I found an approximately five month old beardie on Craigslist for 100 bucks. I have wanted one for a while and he looked so cute. So my fiance and I picked him up. Came with a 35 gallon tank and a basking light. I went and got a second hider some pellet food and extra mealworms and we picked him up. We also got him a uvb bulb and all that jazz got him set up and settled in with all my friends varying reptiles(obviously they are all in separate tanks and her predators have blocks so they don't see the other animals). Anyways atuin seemed fine sweet didn't black beard us and we have had him two days now. He doesn't really move and he favors his front legs he seems weak. I thought compaction cause the previous guy said he fed him superworms which would certainly vary towards the larger side. But he pooped and it doesn't look bad and nothing else is weird he is shedding and his belly looks fine.

It sounds like maybe he wasn't set up with proper lighting or a good diet before you got him. He looks pretty good overall so I think he should be able to bounce back with a good diet and high quality lighting. Which UVB light did you get? Are you keeping track of the surface temps around his tank? What are you offering him to eat?

He seems to be moving around more. We gave him a tiny bit of organic prune purree no added sugars and all that and gave home a warm bath to stimulate his bowels he didn't poop yesterday but he seems more active today. We offer him pellet food I tried misting it to make it more enticing but he has only nommed one little bead he ears maybe two or three dried meal worms in a go which I have gotten him to do about twice a day. And then he just won't take greens and took a piece of banana. And he ate a single live small cricket. We have 12 in a separate tank he just kind of watches them when we put him in there to eat. Gonna give him another warm bath today and just a lick or two of prune and then we are also get some more organic greens puree cause he seems to like the paste and just getting to lick it. Sense he hasn't been eating out of his bowl he hasn't gotten any calcium powder so I was gonna slip that in with his puree. Also with the laser gun thermometer his basking spot is about 100(fluctuates to high 90s) and his cool side is 83

Good for you for rescuing him, his back legs probably weren't functioning correctly from developing MBD, from lack of UVB lighting/ calcium powder. There are a few things you need to fix to ensure his legs will become normal in the future. Number one, I wouldn't feed him the pellets, the pet store may say it's good for them but it's nutritionally lacking, what you can do is feed the pellets to your crickets, they love them. Another thing is avoid the meal worms until he's an adult, if he's 5 months old you want to be feeding him crickets or dubia roaches or BSFL or silkworms twice a day, as much as he will eat. Offer him a salad daily too, they don't start eating salad a lot until theyre around a year but offer anyway because that's where they get most of their water from. Use this link to see what is safe to feed them ( http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html ). Dust his food with calcium 5-7 days a week and give him vitamins 2 times a week. Also your temperatures are alright for an adult beardy, but babies usually like it a little hotter around 110. Lastly, you didn't mention what UV lighting you have but i'll assume you bought the UV light bulb that pet stores sell - these are a big no. It is VERY important you spend the 50-70 dollars on a T5 HO 10.0 reptisun tube light. I bought mine on chewy.com and you can also find it on amazon. Buy the correct fixture for it too. This bulb is imperative because if you stick with a regular bulb that pet stores sell, the metabolic bone disease that your dragon has will not get better, it may even worsen.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
