Ok so I got a beardie called Rony, he is around 3 months and a half old. A month ago he had a lot of temblors around his body but since I got the calcium and vitamin powder supplement he has no temblors at all. (I gave him calcium in his food by 3 days) ok so he is the majority of the time sleeping, and I just discovered his UVB light wasn't working by 3/4 days so it was a problem of the cable, I've changed the cable so now the UVB light is on but the heat lamp (which don't gets too hot and is inside of the tank) isnt, so instead I got a heat mat in one side of the tank. Also his lips are always a bit opened and not too much, but just sometimes he licks his lips. Right now he is shedding so he don't eats too much, but he is alert and active, by now good but as I said, what confused me is that a months ago he had a lot of temblors around his body that looked like we're going to kill him, but now he don't have any temblors at all! Also he ate a rock a weeks ago but he pooped it. I feed him crickets, mealworms 1 day each week and sometimes not too much, green beans.

He doesnt look like he has MBD, but whats his setup, uvb brand, and I'd probably start feeding him twice a day depending on how many your feeding him. Usually younger beardies eat 2-3 times a day with adults eating once.. Im not sure about green beans but collard, turnip greens and mustard greens are good for them. Also how did he end up eating a rock?

0(I'm new so maybe idk how to reply to other comments -.-) well, his setup is good as far as I see, and yeah he was on my garden and suddenly ate a rock, I tried to stop him but I couldn't but he pooped it out so don't worry. I feed him till he is full or doesn't want more. And as I said, the lamp is inside the tank but don't gets too warm as the top part of the tank is made of glass. Also, it haves ventilation, 3 holes in the tank.

No mealworms or superworms at his age.

He's under 6 months old so 3 meals of live insects per day (all LIGHTLY dusted with calcium), as many as he wants per meal.

Can't anything to worry about there .

Just a hatchling getting ready to shed on the lips.

The lips aren't grey, it's that the mouth is a bit open

I meant is the uvb a tube light t5 10.0 or something else like MVB? Also have you tried offering food once and then feeding him a couple hours later to see if he's still hungry?

Yep, he's still hungry. When I feed him he doesn't want more but a couple of hours later he wants more food, also don't worry the bulbs are ok •>•

You absolutely need to get him a proper bright white basking bulb that will get his temperatures up into the correct ranges. Bearded dragons get their heat from above, a heat mat will do nothing for him , and he cannot properly digest his food without a proper bright white basking bulb (not colored lights, only bright white). For a 40 gallon breeder tank you probably want a 100 watt bright white basking bulb, and it needs to be right next to a 10.0 long UVB tube so that he gets both at the same time while basking.

Do you have a thermometer? And is it one of those stick-on, cheap thermometers? If so, you also need either a digital probe thermometer or a temperature gun, the stick-on thermometers are usually inaccurate by about 20 degrees.

You don't need an expensive, reptile specialty basking bulb, you can actually use a 100 watt halogen indoor flood bulb like you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot, or any hardware store, or you can buy a ZooMed Intense Basking Bulb, they are bright white, but no blue, red, yellow, green, etc. basking lights at all.

Basking Spot Surface Temperature: between 105-110 degrees F

Hot Side Ambient Temperature: between 88-93 degrees F

Cool Side Ambient Temperature: between 75-80 degrees F

So if he's lethargic and not eating enough it's because he's way too cold. Only a heat mat and a UVB bulb will not get his tank nearly even close to the correct ranges, and like I said, he needs all of his heat from a bright white basking light that is above him that is right alongside his long UVB tube, that is what they need to go under to bask after they eat, it's as close to replicating natural sunlight as possible.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
