My 12 month year old female bearded dragon hasn't eaten for a week so therefore no calcium intake as well. I am very concerned that she is unwell although she isn't too lethargic. What's going on?

Hi Fin, has her activity level changed ? Anything new in her environment, either inside or directly outside the tank ? Can you list the exact type/brand of lights you're using and how old the uvb bulb is ? Can you post some pics of her + her entire set up ? Here's how :

Her activity level had changed very slightly bit but it changed while she was eating still... shes been a bit on and off her food but not for this long, I read that was natural for the age she is and thought it was okay until now when she hasn't eaten for a week. There has been nothing new to her environment either. The uvb bulb is a Arcadia D3+ Reptile Lamp 12% and it's been there for just 6 months now. She was a bit overweight I think before this all happened aswell. I have been offering dubia roaches every single day but she just doesnt have any interest in them at all. I did try and feed he some salad which she did have a little bit of but still hardly anything. Will take pictures later today....

That's a great flowchart Knobbys, I just saved it for future use, it really does simplify the thought process for people who are not familiar with possible issues. Thanks for posting.

Very nice chart, i saved it as well :D
Hmm, have you offered different food options? Variety of insects/veggies/greens?
I agree keep an eye out and if things dont get better take to a qualified vet.

She has only lost 7 grams in weight which isn't a lot. Is she just trying to stabilize her weight as she was a bit overweight or looked a bit too fat? She did it one dubia roach today but it took a while to make her interested...

7g can be a small poo.

Very important you try address why she is not interested in food and get some food into her daily even if you have to hand feed her , keeps going like this you may have no choice but to resort to syringe feeding and using special high potency reptile foods that are slurries given orally by syringe.

Yeah thanks already seen that, I managed to get her to eat 1 and a half dubia roaches (one got decapitated as she didn't seem want the rest at all) and some salad. I'm still going to get her poo tested for parasites as well.

Cut the bugs in half .... odds are , if he can taste the bug's guts , he'll be more likely to eat it.
This is why I used to squish the crickets' heads (as well as blinding them and making them easier to handle when handfeeding ) , the head end was the part the lizard tasted first - works a treat .

Okay thanks will try that next time, also just wondering if a bearded dragon gains weight does that mean it doesn't have parasites?

not sure .... never had an issue of my pet lizards having parasites. Not even the wild ones who I rescued (who were injured).

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
