If I touch it, he moves away, but doesn't hiss or seem to be in too much pain. He's had the little nub on the end since I got him. I'm noticing the darkness more lately, if I look closely it looks like the scales are dry, like a thin layer is starting to lift almost, but it's more like a thin layer of really, really old shed.Drache613":1359tl0e said:Hello,
The end of the tail looks like it has either been injured or has retained shed on it.
How long has it looked this way? Do you remember whether or not it has been pinched in between anything or injured?
The best you can do for now, is keep it clean & put some antibiotic ointment or raw unpasterurized or manuka honey on it. You will need to keep an eye on it to be sure the dark discoloration does not travel upwards on the tail, indicating infection.
Does it seem to be bothering him?
